Schmitz Cargobull expands its lead
Europe's leading trailer manufacturer wins the

Horstmar/Stuttgart, 5th June 2014 – The readers' decision leaves no room at all for doubt: More than 7,400 participants voted Schmitz Cargobull the clear winner and this year's "Best Brand" in the Trailer category. Europe's leading trailer manufacturer extended its lead to almost 10% at this year's renowned ’Best Brands of 2014’ awards, hosted by industry publisher ETM-Verlag.

"We are very pleased to receive this prize for our entire brand," declared Schmitz Cargobull AG Board Member, Ulrich Schöpker, at the award ceremony in Stuttgart. "We are also delighted that the trailer refrigeration system, which we introduced only a year ago in 2013, has also had a sensational reception. It serves as an integral part of our specially coordinated "Executive" complete package consisting of a refrigeration unit, box semi-trailer, telematics and full service package, and immediately took second place, despite being the newcomer."

The industry's experts – fleet managers, drivers and distributors – have voted the Schmitz Cargobull brand the winner for the fourth time. "We are especially happy to receive the Best Brand title this year because this time we led by a large margin, in contrast to the tightly contested decisions of previous years," affirmed Schöpker at the award ceremony on 5 June in Stuttgart.

As a pioneer in the industry, the company with the Blue Elephant developed a comprehensive brand strategy early on and consistently established quality standards spanning every level. Research and development, production and sales all collaborate in a tight network. Customers appreciate the comprehensive trailer competence brought about through a combination of a broad range of services such as trailer telematics, financing, spare parts and a full service contract. Schmitz Cargobull has once again hit the nail on the head as its convenient complete solutions have gained a high level of acceptance among customers.

On 18 May, the readers of ETM's trade publications, Lastauto Omnibus, Trans Aktuell and Fernfahrer, voted for the best commercial vehicles. The winners in the 22 categories were elected in cooperation with DEKRA and under notary supervision. Given that the readers themselves judge the brand image and product quality, the results are regarded as the benchmark for product policy and brand positioning within the industry.

With an annual production of 45,000 vehicles, Schmitz Cargobull AG is Europe's leading manufacturer of semi-trailers and trailers.
