October 2017 – The market leader, Schmitz Cargobull, continues to expand its position in both Europe and worldwide: “We produced 57,982 trailers, a good 10,000 more than planned,” reports Chief Executive Officer, Andreas Schmitz, when presenting the figures for the 2016/2017 business year.
October 2017 – At the beginning of October Schmitz Cargobull celebrated the official opening of its new production plant in Adapazari, Turkey. The multi-production plant (MPP) will be used to assemble both curtainsiders and box bodies. Plans are also in place to add another assembly line for tipper trailers.

Horstmar, July 2017 – The Supervisory Board of Schmitz Cargobull AG has extended the board member contracts for Andreas Busacker (Finances) and Andreas Klein (Operations) ahead of time by a further five years. Both have served on the company’s Management Board since 2015. “Andreas Busacker and Andreas Klein have both proven themselves to be absolute professionals in their respective fields,” says Prof. Jürgen Kluge, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Schmitz Cargobull AG. “That is why we are pleased to extend both of the contracts ahead of time and safeguard the long-term continuity within the management.”
Horstmar, July 2017 – Schmitz Cargobull, the European market leader in the trailer sector, has acquired 33 percent of the shares in South African trailer manufacturer, GRW Holdings, a leading manufacturer of tankers and trailers in South Africa.
The browser-based Schmitz Cargobull Repair System (CRS), developed by the company in-house, acts as a central fleet management portal for customers, workshops and the back office. Schmitz Cargobull Parts & Services already has more than 15,000 service agreements for a wide range of customers across Europe and this number is on the up.
Horstmar, June 2017 – The BKK Dachverband (an umbrella organisation of company health insurance funds) has granted eleven companies the German Corporate Health Award 2017 in various categories for their engagement in the field of health. In the Industry category the award went to Schmitz Cargobull, the European market leader for semi-trailers. Schmitz Cargobull - with a 5,600-strong workforce - has implemented a high-quality corporate health management programme at various company locations. Horstmar, May 2017 – Starting April 2017, the Schmitz Cargobull tyre service concept which was developed in cooperation with Hankook, will be available throughout Hungary for the service customers of Schmitz Cargobull. The cooperation was agreed upon by Schmitz Cargobull and the Korean tyre manufacturer. More than 104 partner outlets will form the tyre service network in Hungary for the future.

Horstmar, May 2017 – The S.CS MEGA curtainsider semi-trailer with VARIOS Top-Technology remains the world champion when it comes to load capacity. The MEGA trailer has space for up to 67 Euro-pallets, transported on two levels. The double deck system is easy to install and enables pallets containing non-stackable goods to be transported on top of each other, providing more efficient use of the available space.

Horstmar, May 2017 – Jörg Irsfeld has been in charge of the International Key Account Management (IKAM) department at Schmitz Cargobull since the beginning of April. He has therefore replaced former head of IKAM Josef Warmeling.
Josef Warmeling has left the company at the end of March.
Horstmar, March 2017 – Schmitz Cargobull has had its International Key Account Management (IKAM) department audited for a third time. The company aims to continuously develop this sales channel in order to be able to react to the needs of its international customers professionally, flexibly and individually. The European Foundation for Key Account Management e.V. (EFKAM) recently awarded the leading trailer manufacturer's IKAM department its third successive "KAM Professional" certificate.
Horstmar, 8 March 2017 – At the presentation unveiling bodies for light commercial vehicles (VAN BODIES), CEO Andreas Schmitz provided a brief overview of Schmitz Cargobull's upcoming annual financial statements. According to his summary, the demand for commercial vehicles in Central and Western Europe continues to grow strongly. In the current business year 2016/2017 (from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017) Schmitz Cargobull AG, as Europe's largest trailer and body manufacturer, expects an increase in production to around 56,000 trailers (2015/2016 business year: 49,948 units).

On their visit to the production plant in Altenberge with Boris Billich (Member of the Board at Schmitz Cargobull AG), Josef Warmeling (Head of International Key Account Management at Schmitz Cargobull AG) and Gregor Rein (Managing Director of Schmitz Cargobull Denmark A/S), they were impressed by the constant improvement of the products and production processes.
Horstmar, January 2017 –– From January onwards, Schmitz Cargobull tyres, developed in conjunction with the manufacturer Hankook, are available for the spare parts market in Benelux. More than 150 outlets of the Profile Tyrecenter corporation (PTC) now expand Schmitz Cargobull’s European tyre partner network.
