Zaragoza/Horstmar, May 2016 - On 1 June 2016, the new Managing Director Jordi Romero will assume management of the Schmitz Cargobull trailer plant in Spain. He succeeds the long-standing plant manager, Ramón Muñoz, who commences his well-earned retirement at the end of May.
Over the last 18 years, Jordi Romero (41) has worked for a variety of industrial companies. He previously worked in the automotive industry, where he was responsible for the operations division of SEAT Sport. He successfully completed the IESE Business School's management development programme and studied operation and innovation at the ESADE Business School, both in Barcelona.
The Spanish plant is one of nine Schmitz Cargobull plants that produce reliable and robust commercial trailers throughout Europe and China with a high level of standardised quality. The plant in Zaragoza has repeatedly received the highest internal awards for quality and customer satisfaction, emphasising the staff's outstanding commitment.
The timely transition of the plant management in Spain safeguards the continuity and quality of this plant's trailer production. European customers from Spain, Portugal and southern France will continue to receive the best and most innovative transport solutions together with a service package unique in the industry.
Jordi Romero is married and has two daughters. In his free time he is a passionate windsurfer and motorcyclist.
