Double victory for Schmitz Cargobull in the Image Awards ‘Best Brand’ category
Europe’s leading trailer manufacturer takes the title for the sixth time – with a top ranking for its cooling system and tipper trailers

Stuttgart/Horstmar, 23 June 2016 – The readers’ decision was clear for the third year in a row - Schmitz Cargobull is the winner of the Best Brand award in the Trailer category of the ETM-Verlag Image Awards.

The company topped the poll in both the Plane/Curtainsider Trailer and Box/Refrigerated Body Trailer categories for the first time. Europe’s leading trailer manufacturer thus emphasised its top ranking in terms of customer recognition for the sixth time. More than 9,600 readers of the FERNFAHRER, lastauto omnibus and trans aktuell trade publications voted on the renowned Image award from publisher ETM-Verlag. The competition was supervised by a notary.

“Winning the award in the Trailer category once again, in both categories this year, is an outstanding result, and makes us proud. We regard the award as confirmation of the value of our efforts and our customer-oriented products. The practice-oriented and efficient innovations from Schmitz Cargobull consistently prove their reliability every single day," declared Andreas Schmitz, Chairman of the Board of Schmitz Cargobull AG, at the awards ceremony on 23rd June in Stuttgart.

The trailer company also succeeded in the Tipper category, retaining its second place ranking from last year. "We owe this success to the combination of solid engineering and personal recommendations from satisfied customers. Customers are particularly impressed with the high technical standard and the durability under demanding construction site conditions,” explained Frank Reppenhagen, Sales Manager for Germany and Western Europe at Schmitz Cargobull. "At our ‘expert days‘ we receive important practical feedback, which our engineers then integrate into further vehicle development."

Schmitz Cargobull's in-house development team also took second place in the Refrigeration Units category, repeating the success of the previous year. "Our increasing vertical system integration and 'one-stop shop' strategy, together with tailored financing, are proving their value for customers," explained Schmitz. "In particular, the high-performance refrigeration unit with its intelligent control system and data recording, combined with the web-based monitoring system and unique proactive service management, provides reliable control when transporting temperature-controlled freight," continued Schmitz.

Transparent communication with customers via the trade press, a newsletter and social media have all contributed to Schmitz Cargobull's triple success, and the development of the brand itself. Furthermore, expert days, plant tours and personal consultations serve to maintain direct dialogue with customers. These same customers are also the readers of the trade publications. As such, Schmitz Cargobull's outstanding rankings represent both an ongoing commitment and a motivation to continue to excel.

The readers of ETM's trade publications, lastauto omnibus, trans aktuell and FERNFAHRER, voted for the 20th edition of the awards recognising the best commercial vehicles. The winners in the 24 categories were elected in cooperation with DEKRA and under the supervision of a notary. The readers themselves judge the brand image and product quality. These awards represent an important industry barometer, given that the results of the survey provide tangible proof of customer opinions and preferences.
