Schmitz Cargobull Insurance Broker - trailer insurance solutions for Schmitz Cargobull customers


Horstmar, May 2017 – Schmitz Cargobull Finance GmbH focuses on providing trailer customers with optimum financial services. Insurance options represent an important aspect of this service portfolio. In future, Schmitz Cargobull Finance will offer an extended range of insurance solutions.

A special in-house insurance broker has now been established as a subsidiary of Schmitz Cargobull Finance GmbH. As in the past, Schmitz Cargobull Insurance Broker GmbH (CIB) now works to support Schmitz Cargobull customers with an exclusive range of insurance products and coverage:

  • Premium physical damage insurance including brake, operating and fracturing damage for trailers and accessories
  • GAP Cover for the difference between the residual debt on the trailer and the replacement value of a new trailer.


In addition, new and tailored solutions for both individual vehicles and entire fleets are now available.

The aim is to go beyond offering standard insurance products and develop specifically tailored solutions for customers. This clearly distinguishes these services from the conventional vehicle insurance models available in the market.

The Schmitz Cargobull Insurance Broker maintains special framework agreements with premium vehicle insurance companies and as a result can offer customers exclusive coverage concepts and especially attractive premiums.

The Schmitz Cargobull subsidiary Schmitz Cargobull Finance has insured more than 100,000 trailers throughout Europe over the years. In addition to the actual financing, other services including Full Service, telematics and trailer insurance to minimise the total cost of ownership have become increasingly important.
