Group turnover rises to approx. €2 billion

Horstmar, September 2017 – Across the group, Schmitz Cargobull produced approx. 57,000 vehicles in the past business year and asserted its position as the market and technology leader with customer-oriented innovations and outstanding services. Turnover rose for the first time since the 2008/2009 crisis to more than €2 billion. The equity quota amounts to approx. 54%. This solid financial foundation secures all planned investments in the current business year. Given the positive trend, the number of employees rose to 5,700 on average.

The 2016/2017 business year (01/04–31/03) began with powerful momentum. An increasing number of orders received and positive business forecasts for the volume markets in Central and Western Europe set the trend. The new Smart Trailer concept and numerous product and service innovations for the IAA 2016 also stimulated demand.

Vehicles produced: approx. 57,000 units (+16% on the previous year)
