The SKI VOLUME AK tipper trailer offers a lower loading height (-160 mm) and up to 150 kg lower unladen weight whilst still maintaining the same body volume. The tipper trailer will also be available with the Schmitz Cargobull axle from September 2018 onwards.

September 2018 - The enhancements to the S.KI tipper trailer with an aluminium box body (S.KI VOLUME AK) are Schmitz Cargobull’s response to growing demand for vehicles for high-volume transport jobs, particularly in the agricultural sector. This tipper trailer will also be available with the Schmitz Cargobull axle from September 2018 onwards.

The S.KI VOLUME AK tipper trailer with its high-volume aluminium box body and step-frame design offers the same capacity as a standard body while reducing the side loading height. This makes side loading even easier and helps to protect against damage. This practical solution offers a wider scope for application and increases the potential payload. Thanks to the lower loading edge, loading and unloading pallets through the rear wall is also easier than even before.

What’s more, the lower overall height helps to reduce the trailer’s centre of gravity, increasing ride stability and vehicle stability while tipping as a result. The new design also guarantees access through low-roofed warehouses and gates, while ensuring that you are safe to drive under silo loading stations.

The S.KI VOLUME AK tipper trailer with a step-frame design is available with a capacity from 45 to 59 m3. The front section of the chassis is tapered by 80 mm at the height of the landing gear, while additional tunnels are installed in the front of the body. This step-frame design allows the floor of the body to be dropped into the chassis. High-volume bodies with the popular, straight chassis frame will remain on the market.

The Schmitz Cargobull axle has been integrated exclusively into Schmitz Cargobull's vehicle production since production began in 2004. Over 1.2 million units of the Schmitz Cargobull axle have been produced and fitted to date. Absolutely perfect tracking, high suspension comfort, low thermal loading of the bearing, and optimum brake performance combined with the safety features offered by innovative driving stability and braking programmes ensure a high level of readiness for the commercial vehicle. The fact that around 80% of all trailers delivered are equipped with Schmitz Cargobull’s own axle reveals how well it has been received by customers.
