Added payload for flexible transport solutions – new high-volume articulated trucks from Schmitz Cargobull

September 2018 – The Schmitz Cargobull high-volume trucks with drawbar trailers have seen a generational change. The M.CS truck curtainsider and the Z.CS central axle curtainsider are now newly available in the MEGA version, with the total weight reduced by 500 kg.

In the transport of palletised freight or packaged goods, the high-volume articulated truck impresses with a high loading volume combined with manoeuvrability when operating on narrow roads and urban centres. Just like the curtainsider semi-trailer version, the truck body is equipped with a lifting roof with a manual stanchion lifter. The required body heights can be adjusted in steps easily. The simple and robust mechanism enables easy, safe and quick handling, and if necessary, the required loading capacity can thus be adjusted. The full-length lashing holes in the outer frame allow for a wide array of flexible lashing options for any application. The proven Schmitz Cargobull safety roof is now also available for the M.CS/Z.CS. The fibre-reinforced roof tarpaulin does not need any reinforcing wire ropes or belt loops in the trailer interior.

The M.CS/Z.CS offers an outstanding price/performance ratio thanks to the synergies from using numerous proven body components from the S.CS curtainsider semi-trailer. The new MEGA body also matches the curtainsider semi-trailer in appearance and the same spare parts can be used if necessary.

The high-volume truck with drawbar trailer offers space for up to 38 Euro pallets. Proof of the outstanding load securing options is provided by certificates in accordance with DIN EN 12642 (Code XL), Daimler 9.5 and VDI 2.700 Beverages (available as options).

For several years now, Schmitz Cargobull’s portfolio has expanded to produce industry-specific solutions for use on chassis from all major truck manufacturers. Whereas in the past the focus lay on semi-trailers for bulk material, temperature-controlled freight and  palletised goods or packaged goods for long-distance haulage, now innovative bodies for trucks and vans from 3 t upwards and more are increasingly being offered. These vehicles are used mainly for the inner-city distribution of goods as well as local and long-distance transport. All bodies are manufactured in line with Schmitz Cargobull’s well-known strict industrial quality standards.
