September 2018 – With the V.KO COOL, Schmitz Cargobull Van Bodies now offers a solution for transporter box bodies for fresh and frozen cargo. The pre-assembled kit, which includes a built-in refrigeration unit, is made of light, robust STRATOPLAST panels in wall thicknesses of 70 mm – 85 mm. These panels help to prevent moisture from penetrating the exterior wall, forming condensation and, as a result, reducing the payload. The STRATOPLAST panels are also equipped with foamed vapour diffusion blocks made from metal composites, which can be flexibly adapted to suit the load. The streamlined total weight of just 600 kg has a positive impact on the payload. The construction time for the V.KO COOL is just 6 hours.
The V.KO COOL is certified according to EN 12642 Code XL, is compatible with FRC and HACCP, and has a k-value of < 0.37 W/m²*K. The vehicle be combined with all conventional cooling units. A special universal adapter has been developed especially for the body, and is integrated into the bulkhead as standard.
Prior to the market launch, the V.KO COOL body went through a variety of tests. It was tested under extreme climatic conditions while its strength was put to the test on a hydropulse rig. The V.KO COOL also impressed in a cooling tunnel at an independent accredited test institute.
To coordinate any repair times or maintenance intervals, customers have access to an extensive network of Service Partners who cater specifically to V.KO bodies for last-mile logistics. As a result, long downtimes in the workshop are now a thing of the past.
V.KO DRY – Transporter body for dry freight
The V.KO DRY was successfully launched back in 2017. With the modular V.KO DRY kit, Schmitz Cargobull Van Bodies is a swift and simple solution for transporter box bodies for dry freight last-mile logistics.
The V.KO DRY body kit consists of light, robust GRP sandwich panels, which are just 20 mm thick. The certified body strength in accordance with DIN EN 12642, the service life / strength test with an acceleration of up to 4g provide proof of the durability of the V.KO DRY box body set.
Both transporter bodies are delivered to the body builder or OEM as a complete kit for assembly. The walls are prefabricated – along with all fittings and profiles. Schmitz Cargobull Van Bodies is also an OEM partner at European level with both body variants.
