Data. Facts. Information. First-hand corporate communication.
September 2018 – For several years now, Schmitz Cargobull’s portfolio has expanded to produce industry-specific solutions for use on chassis from all major truck manufacturers. Whereas in the past the focus lay on semi-trailers for bulk material, temperature-controlled freight and palletised goods or packaged goods for long-distance haulage, now innovative bodies for trucks and vans from 12t upwards are increasingly being offered. These vehicles are used mainly for the inner-city distribution of goods as well as local transport. All bodies are manufactured in line with Schmitz Cargobull’s well-known strict industrial quality standards.
The M.KO truck box body is a high-strength body made of FERROPLAST insulation panels. The bonding and joining technology used gives the body an exceptional level of stability, while the sophisticated modular design enables it to combine all the main aspects of a box body trailer.
The galvanised, bolted subframe ensures compatibility with all the leading truck manufacturers. The finely-adjusted hole patterns in the subframe permit the body to be force-fitted to the manufacturer-specific and vehicle-specific attachment points. The bolted, galvanised body ensures good repairability and high stability.
Customers can also choose from a wide array of vehicle safety systems, which can guarantee such factors as safe access, good manoeuvrability and impressive visibility.
M.KO COOL truck box body – Safety for multi-temp transport in the urban and distribution logistics.
Customers can choose from three different weight classes – from the nippy 12-tonner for urban delivery services to the flexible 18-tonner for variable capacities (with or without trailer), all the way through to the 26-tonner, as an efficient body for the through-loading trailer with up to 37 Euro pallets. They can also opt for optimised wall thicknesses of 45 mm or 60 mm for their box body.
Depending on the task at hand and the customer’s requirements, the body can also be adjusted to meet various lengths and load requirements. The interior fittings are just as versatile as the body itself.
When equipped as a multi-chamber trailer, the M.KO COOL comes with the following equipment for creating different temperature zones:
A range of other options are available for customised transport solutions to meet all customer requirements.
M.KO truck box body for dry freight – Security for valuables and dry freight.
Thanks to the insulation provided by the FERROPLAST panels, the M.KO for dry freight is the ideal solution for valuables and dry goods. The impressive insulation against vapour diffusion and protection against other external hazards keep the cargo safe and sound. Additional options, like the aluminium floor, double-deck system, preparations for heating devices, side doors and much more, mean that the trailer is always able to satisfy individual customer requirements.
M.KO FP25 FW EXPRESS truck box body – Light, insulated box body with folding side wall and M.KO FP 45 FW insulated box body with folding side wall and ATP-FNA certificate.
Box bodies with a folding wall enable flexible loading and unloading from the side across the entire length of the load compartment. This allows for quicker and more convenient loading and unloading when space is at a premium. Furthermore, the M.KO FP25 FW EXPRESS is available with a plywood or aluminium floor, the latter of which has a higher load capacity and is more durable. The aluminium floor is mandatory if the box body is equipped with a refrigeration unit.
The side wall can be opened and closed in under a minute. During the folding process, the individual side wall segments are joined together before being closed and locked at the end, which saves both time and money.
The insulated box body is suitable for transporting foodstuffs, agricultural goods and other items that require a temperature range from 5°C to 12°C. An optional ATP-IN or FNA certificate means that the trailer can also be used for international transport. This trailer also meets all comfort and flexibility requirements during loading and unloading, even when dealing with long or bulky items. What’s more, loading and unloading are no longer limited to logistics areas.
A simple way to increase load capacity – With the Z.KO central axle body trailer.
The Z.KO central axle body trailer is equally as versatile. Combined with the M.KO, the through-loading drawbar trailers have become best sellers among food logistics providers in both Western and Eastern Europe. In the through-loading trailer, an additional roller door on the rear wall of the trailer and an integrated, fold-out loading tail-lift enable complete loading and unloading of the truck-trailer combination without needing to uncouple. The designers even included a rain shield between the truck and the trailer.
The Z.KO also offers the following:
In all trailer types, Schmitz Cargobull uses the latest generation ROTOS running gear which guarantees driving safety thanks to optimum cooling of the brake disc, large braking system and standard RSP (Roll Stability Program). The bolted, galvanised running gear offers optimum protection against corrosion and a high level of stability, while the welded chassis offer stability and durability in heavy-duty environments. The bonded FERROPLAST body is warp-proof and durable, while also guaranteeing high vapour-diffusion resistance. When used in conjunction with the fully-welded aluminium floor tray, it also permits easy and hygienic cleaning. Maintenance-free, energy-saving LED lights are used in the latest version of the M.KO–Z.KO through-loading trailer.
