Board member Andreas Klein to leave Schmitz Cargobull

March 2018 - Andreas Klein, Chief Operations Officer since January 2015, is set to leave Schmitz Cargobull AG. The mechanical engineering graduate’s seat on the company's Supervisory Board was terminated by mutual agreement in March 2018.

In close liaison between the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board, both parties agreed that there is a difference of opinion when it comes to implementing the strategic and operational goals of the production network. “We would like to thank Andreas Klein for his first-class work and his dedicated commitment, especially in the introduction of product line management, the management of the plants and their orientation toward sustainable, successful development,” asserted Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Professor Dr. Jürgen Kluge.

Andreas Klein (51) joined Schmitz Cargobull AG in January 2015 as a member of the Executive Board responsible for Operations. In his former position at the ZF Lemförder Group, he was responsible for the Passenger Car Axle Systems division for the Asia Pacific region. As part of the Schmitz Cargobull Strategy 2025, one of his main duties concerned the expansion of the production network with decentralised multi-production plants. To enable the assembling of different vehicle types in one multi-production plant, all of the technical prerequisites needed to be put in place and standardisation of the products and processes was necessary. In recent years, Andreas Klein set the first milestones in this field.

The Supervisory Board thanks Andreas Klein for his contribution and wishes him continued success in his professional and personal future.
