M.KI truck tipper body
The right tipping assembly for every truck

Horstmar/Gotha, April 2016 – Regardless of whether it's DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault Trucks, Scania or Volvo - Schmitz Cargobull offers precisely the right M.KI tipper body for every type of truck, with volumes ranging from 13 to 20 m³. The bodies are based around a rounded or box trough body, constructed out of highly wear-resistant and dent-resistant steel. The flexible modular system allows it to be configured in a variety of lengths, floor thicknesses, side walls, and with different rear wall versions to suit almost every transport task. The outstanding material characteristics are the result of comprehensive testing as part of the Schmitz Cargobull's own in-house material research carried out using a dent and wear testing rig.

Depending on the truck, the steel bodies can be manufactured in lengths of 4,500 mm, 5,000 mm, 5,300 mm, 5,500 mm or 5,800 mm. Customers can select from a variety of side wall thicknesses (4 to 6 mm) and floor thicknesses (5 to 8 mm).

All of the bodies have been designed using the Finite Element Method (FEM) and are equipped with a subframe. This subframe supports the entire body. Accessories and attachments are securely mounted on the subframe. This saves time and reduces costs when mounting the body onto the truck. The body's longitudinal welding seams are located outside the material wear area on both sides.

Schmitz Cargobull offers the right tailgate version for every purpose:
whether an internal pendulum flap with a chute for optimal use with road finishers, or external pendulum tailgates with surrounding seals, which also allow partial unloading. Both variants are also available with hydraulic operation.

An M.KI truck body with a rounded steel body fitted with a hydraulically operated tailgate, chute and pendulum function will be presented at bauma 2016. The integrated pendulum function makes this hydraulic pendulum tailgate the perfect choice for use when working with road finishers and can be used for road construction in combination with metering equipment. This variant can be opened and closed extremely quickly. Construction transport in particular benefits from these time-saving features, as this type of work commonly involves frequent tipping. The locking elements are located outside of the tipping area, while the cylinders and lines are mounted in protected positions on the body.

Schmitz Cargobull has developed its own optimised body geometry with an advantageous centre of gravity for optimum tipping stability - unlike standard body shapes, which have a high centre of gravity. The optimised body geometry keeps the loaded goods' centre of gravity low when tipping. In addition, this centring also enables an even material flow.

The tipping stability of all of the truck tipping assemblies is verified using the in-house tipping test rig, which simulates the forces involved when tipping on sloping surfaces.

Extra features are just as individual as the assembly and include body positioners, side fender plates, a body-width canopy, ladders etc. along with a heated body, depending on the transport task and area of usage. There is almost no end to the additional equipment options, which makes the M.KI truck body a tailor-made construction site trailer.
