Schmitz Cargobull motorised tipper M.KI for daily use on the road and construction site
November 2025 - The M.KI motorised tipper is designed for transporting construction materials in a wide range of applications - whether on construction sites, in quarries or on rough terrain. Its compact design and high manoeuvrability support efficient work under demanding conditions.
Schmitz Cargobull offers the customised M.KI body with a volume of 15 to 22m³ for the 4-axle motorised trailer. The basis for the truck bodies is the steel round body made of highly wear and dent-resistant steel, similar to the tipper semi-trailer. Thanks to the flexible Schmitz Cargobull modular system, additional body lengths are now available. In addition to the already familiar 5.5m and 5.8m versions, a 5.2m version is now also available, ideal for lorries with a shorter wheelbase or longer cab.
The Gotha product experts were also able to reduce the weight of this version compared to the previous generation of skips. In length 5.2m, an empty body weight including subframe from 3,000kg is possible. With the different floor thicknesses of 5-10mm, side wall thicknesses of 4-8mm and the various side wall heights of 1,300, 1,460, 1,560, 1,660mm, the tipper bodies are compatible with the various motorised trailer variants and optimised for the respective transport task. The troughs can be customised and configured as required. For the rear walls, Schmitz Cargobull offers a choice of internal rear wall flaps with chute or surface-mounted rear wall flaps with all-round seal. Both variants are optionally available with a slider. The hydraulic tailgate with overlying flap is made for all applications. Chunks of stone, demolition rubble or sand - no matter what is being loaded, the large hydraulic tailgate is not only designed for frequent tipping and the transport of thick chunks. It offers three functions that can be selected via a switch on the solebar. In operating mode 1, for example, the load can be unloaded via a pusher for controlled unloading; the rear wall remains locked when tipping. In operating mode 2, the rear wall flap is in the pendulum function and is opened by the load pressure. In operating mode 3, the hydraulically operated rear wall flap starts to move at the beginning of the tipping process and opens fully to release the maximum opening cross-section. Individual applications can therefore be covered with a single rear wall.
Optimised for the respective transport task
Thanks to the thermal insulation, the vehicle only has a slight additional weight of 180kgs or more, depending on the body design. The thermal insulation is available for body length 5.2m with an overall height of 1,460mm and for body length 5.5m with overall heights of 1,300mm and 1,460mm. The smaller volumes and improved manoeuvrability pay off, especially in tight traffic areas, which are often common on construction sites. The optimised geometry of the body ensures a low centre of gravity and tipping stability. The high-quality, temperature-resistant skip cover is designed as an electric sliding roof and can be operated safely and conveniently by remote control. This system supports efficient processes, especially for frequent loading and unloading operations. It also increases work safety, as there is no need to climb on and off. Depending on the chassis, the sliding roof is available for all skips. The conventional roller tarpaulin and a roller tarpaulin that can be operated from the ground extend the portfolio.
The tipping stability of all motorised tipper bodies is verified on the company's own test bench, which simulates the forces that act during tipping operations on inclined surfaces and enables the stability to be assessed in a practical manner.
