September 2026 – The PerformanceCoil is specially designed for the transport of steel and metal coils. The 8,220 millimetres long coil trough is suitable for coils with a diameter of 800 to 2,100 millimetres. Thanks to high-strength S700 fine-grained steel, an optimised frame construction based on the Reuleaux triangle and precise welding technology, the chassis offers high stability with a low dead weight. Equipped with the optional POWER CURTAIN from Schmitz Cargobull – a battenless body with integrated aramid belts – the trailer enables a payload of up to 27.5 tonnes. This means that more cargo can be transported per trip and fuel consumption and CO2 emissions can be reduced according to capacity utilisation. 

The standard coil trough is supplemented by coil trough covers with integrated steel beams. This allows a largely flat loading area to be created if required, which expands the vehicle's possible applications beyond coil transport.

Fast loading and unloading – the Schmitz Cargobull POWER CURTAIN body
Equipped with the POWER CURTAIN body, the vehicle meets the requirements for efficiency and handling speed particularly well. Without top slats, the certified body strength according to DIN EN 12642 Code XL, including beverage requirements, is achieved. This is ensured by vertically and horizontally mounted reinforcements in the side tarpaulin and an anti-theft fabric integrated as standard, which further increases the protection of the load. Since the attachment slats are omitted, fewer work steps are required during loading and unloading. This shortens turnaround times and reduces the vehicle weight. LED interior lighting ensures uniform illumination of the cargo area and supports safe and efficient work. In addition, the new Schmitz Cargobull centre stanchion improves handling in everyday transport. The optimised design simplifies operation and supports efficient load securing for frequently changing transport tasks.

The new generation of lightweight trailers includes a broad body portfolio for different transport requirements. Depending on the version, load securing certificates according to EN 12642 Code XL and also other certificates for beverage, automotive and tyre transport are available. In addition, there are certificates for chemical transport, for example, of octabins and grain certificates. These certificates guarantee the highest safety and quality standards.

The easy handling and reliable durability are made possible with various construction options. These include the Safety Roof, the POWER CURTAIN, the VARIOS system and anodised aluminium front and rear walls with galvanised corner posts. These features ensure a robust and durable construction, and customers can adapt the body to a wide range of industry requirements.
