Schmitz Cargobull presents new S.CU dc100 transport refrigeration unit with VarioFlow technology
Compared to the predecessor model S.CU dc90, the S.CU dc100 consumes up to 8 per cent less fuel with up to 11 per cent more cooling capacity. At the heart of the system is a two-stage compressor that is directly connected to the diesel generator set, as well as new VarioFlow fans for the evaporator, condenser and machine room. In conventional transport chillers, refrigeration and cooling/heat transfer are directly coupled with each other. In the S.CU dc100 with VarioFlow technology, on the other hand, the speeds of the compressor, evaporator fan, condenser fan and engine room fan are individually adapted to the respective requirements, so that each component operates at optimum levels at all times. This provides the exact cooling capacity required for the respective transport and environmental situation.
The cargo space is cooled down from +30 °C to -20 °C around 15 percent faster
At high outside temperatures, reliability is increased by deliberately increasing the speed of the VarioFlow fans on the warm side (condenser and machine room). In addition, the optimised mode of operation reduces the load on the components and contributes to a longer service life of the system.
The S.CU dc100 is based on service-friendly 48-volt VarioFlow fans and a modular design with a high proportion of common parts within the S.CU modular system. This simplifies maintenance and service work and supports high vehicle availability.
The operation also remains unchanged intuitive. The user enters the desired machine setting as usual. The compressor and VarioFlow fans are controlled automatically. In this way, the S.CU dc100 combines easy handling with demand-oriented and efficient control of all essential components. For even more ease of use, the control panel has been tilted at the S.CU so that the information on the display is easier to read.
Schmitz Cargobull already introduced the R454A refrigerant in Europe for the predecessor model S.CU dc90 and the S.CU d80. It meets the stricter requirements of the EU F-Gas Regulation and has a significantly lower direct GWP (Global Warming Potential) value. Compared to the previously used refrigerant R452A, the CO2 equivalent is reduced by 89 per cent.
