The new dry freight trailer S.BO PACE+ delivers cost-efficient parcel logistics with new lightweight technology FERROSTRUKT®
FERROSTRUKT® technology: robust, lightweight and easy to repair
The core of the body is the FERROSTRUKT® sidewall technology. The combination of steel top layer and honeycomb core combines high impact and puncture resistance with a low dead weight. This means that the PACE+ S.BO is perfect for the typical loads in parcel logistics and improves the cost-effectiveness of CEP traffic. The individual profile panels of the side walls can be replaced quickly in the event of damage. This reduces amount of work required to make a repair and shortens downtime, keeping operating costs low in the long term. The roof is also designed in profile panel construction and does not require any additional support components. The reduced number of components simplifies repairs, and the construction is designed for a long service life and is recyclable. The body has been tested according to DIN EN 12642 Code XL for a payload of 27,000 kilograms. The 28-millimetre-thick floor is designed for forklift axle loads of up to 7,100 kilograms and tested in accordance with DIN EN 283. This makes the vehicle suitable for intensive loading and unloading processes with high mechanical loads.
The S.BO PACE+ uses proven components from the modular S.BO dry cargo system, such as the aluminium plank bulkhead and continuous steel connection profiles, which connect all body parts to form a robust structure with high stability. The galvanised and bolted chassis offers permanent corrosion protection and contributes to the long-term value retention of the vehicle.
Aluminium doors or an optional aluminium roller door from Schmitz Cargobull are available for the rear. In the particularly stressed rear area, an 800-millimetre-long steel wear plate protects the loading area from damage by industrial trucks.
Practical load securing for fast handling processes
Load securing in the PACE+ S.BO is deliberately simple and designed to meet the requirements of high handling frequencies. Attached load securing rails enable functional and flexible securing of different shipments. Safe and efficient working is also ensured by the optional LED interior lighting on both sides along the entire length of the body, which illuminates the cargo area evenly. The rear camera with wireless signal transmission to the semitrailer tractor, which is also available as an option, supports the driver when manoeuvring and increases safety in daily operation.
Theft protection according to TAPA requirements
For the protection of high-value goods to be transported, Schmitz Cargobull also offers a security concept for dry freight trailers that is designed to meet the requirements of the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA). Like the S.BO EXPRESS and S.BO MULTI, the dry freight case S.BO PACE+ is available in a TAPA TSR1-capable version and is equipped ex works with coordinated safety components and portal functions. These include an acoustic alarm system and a door locking system in combination with door contact sensors that secure access at the rear. Additional functions in the TrailerConnect® telematics portal, such as sabotage and TAPA mode, enable continuous monitoring. Schmitz Cargobull is the first manufacturer to offer the TAPA safety package for a dry freight trailer with roller door.
The PACE+ S.BO is ideal for parcel logistics companies as well as operators of standardised dry freight transport, where efficiency, ease of use and cost transparency are paramount. The robust, repair-friendly design, simple operation and available safety functions support high vehicle availability and calculable operating costs.
