- Curtainsider semi-trailer S.CS CITY for versatile applications
- High-volume combination with motor curtainsider truck body and central axle curtainsider
- GT TECH single-axle dolly
September 2026 – As part of their strategic partnership, Schmitz Cargobull and the Polish manufacturer GT Trailers are presenting new vehicle solutions for city logistics, as they expand their joint portfolio in the field of truck bodies and trailers.
The S.BO CITY and the S.CS CITY are the result of the cooperation between the two companies. The high-volume aluminium truck-trailer combination and the two-axle dolly are manufactured by GT Trailers.
Schmitz Cargobull holds 48 per cent of the shares in GT Trailers; together they seek to bundle competencies in design, production and sales, and to provide customers with an expanded, tailor-made portfolio for different transport requirements.
Dry freight box body S.BO CITY for efficient urban distribution
With the S.BO CITY, Schmitz Cargobull and GT Trailers offer a robust and economical solution for inner-city dry freight logistics. The box body is based on a durable FERROPLAST® construction in combination with a hot-dip galvanised steel frame and is designed for intensive use in distribution networks.
The compact design and precise steering axle make it easier to manoeuvre in confined inner-city conditions. The tail lift, roller door and flexible loading options enable fast handling processes during frequent stops. This makes the S.BO CITY particularly suitable for applications in retail, food and general cargo distribution with high demands on flexibility and process reliability.
Curtainsider semi-trailer S.CS CITY for versatile applications
With the S.CS CITY, Schmitz Cargobull and GT Trailers are expanding their portfolio with a curtainsider variant for urban and regional distribution transport. The vehicle concept is designed for fast and flexible loading processes and combines a compact design with a high degree of robustness. The combination of the steerable axle, galvanised chassis and variable body options supports the use of the S.CS CITY in complex delivery environments with narrow access roads and frequent stops. The curtainsider concept with a lifting roof enables flexible loading from the side and from above, while reinforced floor structures and high forklift axle loads ensure use in demanding handling processes. Overall, the S.CS CITY enables the efficient handling of distribution tasks in daily use.
Joint solutions for growing requirements in city logistics
With the jointly developed and marketed vehicles, Schmitz Cargobull and GT Trailers offer their customers a broad portfolio for city and distribution logistics. The specialised vehicle concepts of GT Trailers are combined with the system and service expertise of Schmitz Cargobull. This provides transport companies with needs-based solutions with which they can fulfil various transport tasks in urban and regional distribution transport economically and reliably.
High-volume aluminium truck-trailer combination The volume train combination was developed for the transport of divisible, large-volume dry freight. It offers more loading volume per transport unit than a standard semi-trailer combination and is particularly suitable for production and factory transports with predictable volume flows.
The high-volume concept combines a truck body with a central-axle trailer. The high-volume combinations are offered in two versions: the GT Tech Alulight with an aluminium body and the GT Tech Basic with a steel version. The permissible payload of the GT Tech Alulight is up to 15 tonnes per train, of which up to 7.5 tonnes each on the truck and trailer. The Alulight version is based on an aluminium profile system developed by GT Trailers. The lightweight construction reduces the dead weight and at the same time ensures high structural strength. Compared to conventional vehicle concepts, this can reduce fuel consumption by around one litre per 100 kilometres. With an annual mileage of 120,000 kilometres, this corresponds to fuel savings of around 1,200 litres. Another economic factor is the axle configuration. While classic semitrailer combinations often have five axles, the volume combination gets by with three axles. This leads to lower toll costs and reduces operating expenses over the entire service life of the vehicle. The aluminium construction also offers advantages in maintenance and repair. An additional corrosion protection coating is not required, and damaged components can be easily repaired. This reduces downtime and lowers repair costs.
There are numerous options available for different transport requirements. These include STABIX, an integrated anti-roll-over system to increase the driving stability of the trailer, Omni-Bumper, rear portal, internal and external forklift docking stations, a certified through-loading platform with a load capacity of 5,500kgs, roof lifting system and tail lift. With its high load volume, fuel-saving lightweight construction and possible advantages in terms of tolls, maintenance and repairs, the volume train is designed for low total operating costs and high transport performance.
GT TECH single-axle dolly
The single-axle GT Tech dolly has a technically permissible gross weight of 12tonnes and is characterised by its low dead weight. Thanks to its compact design and short chassis, the dolly offers a high degree of manoeuvrability, especially for shunting and distribution traffic. Depending on the version, the hot-dip galvanised chassis is 4.83 to 5.43metres long and 2.48metres wide. Standard equipment includes pneumatic suspension with lifting and lowering function, tyre pressure monitoring system and full LED lighting.
The dolly is designed for 275/70 R22.5 tyres and has an adjustable drawbar and a fifth wheel coupling with a height of 1.10 or 1.15metres. This allows the vehicle to be flexibly integrated into different transport configurations.
