Market-leading FERROPLAST® thermal technology is the basis of our refrigerated box bodies. No moisture penetrates through the body's vapour diffusion-tight metal surface layers, keeping the payload safe and maintaining the efficiency of the insulation.

FERROPLAST® ThermoTechnology

Compared to systems with glass fibre-reinforced plastic (GRP), the form core is up to 12% thicker, achieving higher insulation performance with the same transport volume. Special optional inner surface layers with High Dent Resistance (HDR) increase the body's strength, protecting it from damage.

  • Corrosion resistance:
    Chemical and physical protection through the cathode effect with galvanised steel finishes.

  • Thermal capacity:
    Steel surface layers have considerably lower heat storage capacity than GRP. The semi-trailer's interior requires less time and energy to cool down.

  • Thermal expansion:
    Steel extends around 50% less than aluminium and around 70% less than GRP. Thermal expansion is fully absorbed by the folding seams, resulting in zero deformation.

  • Penetration resistance:
    20 mm diameter balls collide at forces of up to 300 N without causing any lasting deformation.*

  • Vapour diffusion resistance:
    The metal cover layers are vapour diffusion-tight. No loss of insulation and no damage to the payload from moisture absorption into the foam core.
