Cargobull Operating System: Real-time data for greater transparency and availability
"With the Cargobull Operating System, trailers become intelligent, networked systems that make data usable in a targeted manner. The COS creates real added value for our customers – through greater efficiency, more transparency and optimised transport processes," says Dr. Cafer Ince, Head of Product Line Digital Services at Schmitz Cargobull.
The software-defined trailer is a central component of the Cargobull Operating System (COS). It brings together all relevant data from sensor technology, telematics and trailer control in a uniform system architecture in a centrally available platform. This forms the technological basis for end-to-end digitisation of the trailer over its entire life cycle.
AI-supported analyses and real-time data help to detect deviations at an early stage, to better plan maintenance and to automate processes. This reduces breakdowns and simplifies planning in fleet operations. Integrated diagnostic systems, TrailerConnect® technology and legally compliant functions ensure stability and safety – from individual trailers to the entire fleet.
The TrailerConnect® portal provides fleet operators with transparent real-time information on all relevant components such as axles, brakes and refrigeration units. Functions can be monitored and controlled remotely. Maintenance can be planned automatically, and third-party systems integrate seamlessly. This turns the trailer into a networked system that sustainably increases efficiency, availability and operational safety.

TrailerConnect® telematics and FleetTrack: Real-time transparency
TrailerConnect® telematics provides comprehensive real-time data on location, temperature, tyre pressure, braking events, energy consumption and other parameters for
the trailer and refrigeration unit S.CU. The central user interface for transparent and forward-looking fleet management is TrailerConnect® FleetTrack, which brings together all telematics and status data in a clear dashboard. Fleet operators get a consolidated overview of the technical condition of their trailers, the performance of refrigeration units, and relevant events and alarms in real time and across the entire fleet.
TrailerConnect® FleetWatch: Proactive monitoring instead of reactive processes now also with new usage analysis
TrailerConnect® FleetWatch complements FleetTrack with a proactive monitoring function for trailers and transport refrigeration units – both the Schmitz Cargobull S.CU. as well as third-party cooling units. The system detects critical conditions at an early stage, such as error codes from refrigeration units or RDF systems. Recommendations for action help to eliminate problems before failures occur. Maintenance becomes more plannable and vehicle availability increases. The new usage analysis in FleetWatch offers a flexible dashboard for transparency of fleet deployment and performance. Individually definable time periods and filters enable targeted evaluations by vehicle, group or component. Central data on utilisation, operating hours or temperature profiles provide a well-founded basis for decision-making, and customers can quickly identify where optimisation potential lies.
TrailerConnect® Data Management Center (DMC) and TourTrack: Secure database and end-to-end integration
With the Data Management Center (DMC), Schmitz Cargobull provides a central, GDPR-compliant data platform. In the DMC, telematics and third-party data are consolidated into a uniform database. This enables a consistent overview even in mixed fleets. In combination with TourTrack, end-to-end digital traceability of transports is created. Relevant information can be exchanged, documented and integrated into existing fleet and logistics processes across systems – from route planning to proof of transport conditions. The user determines when, where and with who a variety of data is shared.
Remote Start and CargoSets: Digital control of the trailer
A central component of the software-defined trailer are smart remote functions. The TrailerConnect® portal can be used to remotely control functions such as remote start of refrigeration units, set-point adjustments or digital door locks.
With CargoSets, predefined setting profiles for recurring transport tasks can be activated with a click. This simplifies processes, reduces operating errors and increases operational reliability.
The Cargobull Operating System enables end-to-end connectivity from the road to the cloud. Real-time data synchronization, AI-based pattern and anomaly detection as well as remote diagnostics and over-the-air updates help to avoid failures at an early stage, reduce downtimes and operate the fleet reliably. At the same time, the system ensures maximum transparency and safety, especially during temperature-controlled transports. The highest security standards, certified processes and legally compliant data processing are guaranteed throughout.
