S.KO CITY refrigerated semi-trailer - the fast and manoeuvrable transport solution for urban distribution transport

Equipped with Schmitz Cargobull S.CU d80 ePTO ready refrigeration unit - prepared for purely electric, emission-free operation

November 2025 - Whether for frozen or fresh food transport, the two-axle S.KO CITY refrigerated semi-trailer is particularly at home in conurbations and city centres and offers space for 45 roll containers or 27 Euro pallets. Its mechanical forced steering ensures maximum manoeuvrability in a small space with low tyre wear. With its compact dimensions of 11,083mm in length and a low overall height of 2,700mm inside, the S.KO CITY can be used very flexibly. Like all Schmitz Cargobull vehicles, the S.KO CITY is equipped with the TrailerConnect® telematics system as standard. The resistant FERROPLAST® panels ensure energy-efficient insulation and reliable temperature control.

The S.KO CITY with FERROPLAST® body is specially designed for distribution transport by food logistics companies. Thanks to flexible equipment packages, the semi-trailer can be customised to meet different transport and logistics requirements. The non-slip multifunctional floor is easy to clean and fulfils the applicable hygiene standards. Vertical telescopic beams along the entire length of the body can be fixed quickly and easily in the multifunctional floor - for reliable load securing with changing transport requirements. High scuff rails protect the interior, and the interior lighting improves visibility and working conditions. A 2.5t standard tail lift rounds off the range of equipment and supports reliable and efficient loading and unloading processes.

Cost-efficient and flexible in use

Equipped with the Schmitz Cargobull S.CU d80 refrigeration unit with a proven, robust and emission-optimised diesel engine, the S.KO CITY is ideal for inner-city food distribution transport, which is characterised by frequent loading and unloading processes and journeys in dense urban traffic.

The S.CU d80 transport refrigeration unit can be operated emission-free via an electric power take-off (ePTO) on the tractor unit. With the ePTO ready option, it enables electric operation and supports the economical switch to alternative drives in temperature-controlled transport. Expensive battery and charging technology in the refrigerated box body is therefore not required, and the trailer can be operated cost-effectively with a full payload.

The traction battery of the electric semi-trailer tractor supplies the transport refrigeration unit with electrical energy via the ePTO. If the electrical power supply fails, the integrated diesel generator takes over the cooling. Switching between electric and diesel operation takes place automatically via the S.CU control unit. This ensures cooling at all times - regardless of the energy source. For refrigerated logistics companies, this solution offers maximum flexibility in a mixed fleet - regardless of the type of drive and manufacturer of the tractor units.
