High load capacity, large volume: the S.CS MEGA X-TOUGH

September 2026 – With the S.CS MEGA X-TOUGH, Schmitz Cargobull is expanding its chassis range to include a solution for transports where high loads and large load volumes are required at the same time. The vehicle combines a low-neck height with high permissible point loads and is particularly suitable for transporting heavy and voluminous goods such as batteries for the automotive industry or standing paper rolls with heights of over 2,800 millimetres.

The robust S.CS MEGA X-TOUGH semi-trailer curtainsider was specially developed for countries with a gross combination weight of 44 tonnes and more and is based on the Schmitz Cargobull chassis range with galvanised and bolted chassis. The X-TOUGH chassis impresses with its high bending and torsional strength and enables high loads in daily use. With cross-member spacing of less than 400 millimetres in the chassis structure, the vehicle is particularly resistant and resilient. The floor made of 30-millimetre-thick plywood is specially designed for intensive handling with forklifts. The standard payload is 9.5 tonnes. The galvanised chassis offers permanent corrosion protection and contributes to the long-term value retention of the vehicle.

VARIOS body for different loading heights
With the height-adjustable VARIOS body, the S.CS MEGA X-TOUGH can be flexibly adapted to different loading heights. The infinitely height-adjustable lifting roof enables quick adaptation to changing requirements in everyday transport.

The easy-to-use, robust mechanism enables fast and safe handling in daily use. This allows the load volume to be optimised. The body of the S.CS MEGA X-TOUGH meets the requirements of DIN EN 12642 Code XL, Daimler guideline 9.5 and the beverage certificate. 

The vehicle can also be equipped with the POWER CURTAIN PLUS built with OXO body. This structure enables the safe loading of non-dimensionally stable goods such as tyres, which exert high pressure on the side tarpaulin during form-fitting transport. An easy-to-use lever mechanism tensions the supporting bars and adds preload to the tarpaulin. This gives the side wall the necessary strength for load securing. 

Flexible load securing and simple operation
The continuous lashing holes in the outer frame offer flexible options for securing different goods. The new centre stanchion from Schmitz Cargobull improves operation in everyday transport with its optimised slat pocket layout and reduced weight. This reduces the physical effort for the driver when securing the load. The LED interior lighting illuminates the cargo area evenly and supports safe and efficient loading and unloading processes.
