• Practice-oriented equipment options create transparency and facilitate loading and unloading processes

September 2026 – The new generation of S.KO COOL refrigerated semi-trailers are manufactured on the new highly automated assembly line at the Vreden plant. The modern production ensures the highest precision, consistently high processing and product quality, and supports the reliability and durability of the vehicles. Equipped with TrailerConnect® telematics including a digital temperature recorder as standard, the new generation of the S.KO COOL combines a vehicle, transport refrigeration unit and digital services in one integrated system. The proven FERROPLAST® insulation with a k-value of 0.295W/m²K is the basis for the low energy consumption in refrigerated transport. The galvanised short chassis enables a high interior height and thus maximum load volume.

The new generation of the S.KO COOL supports transport companies in carrying out temperature-controlled tasks safely, transparently and economically. The new S.CU dc100 unit complements the overall system with demand-based refrigeration with precise temperature control.

New transport cooling unit reduces operating costs
With the S.CU dc100, Schmitz Cargobull presents a new refrigeration technology for transport refrigeration units. At the heart of the development is VarioFlow technology, in which refrigeration and cooling/heat transfer are controlled independently of each other for the first time. The speeds of the compressor as well as evaporator, condenser and engine room fans are adjusted as required, so that exactly the cooling capacity needed for the respective transport task is provided. This reduces energy consumption, fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. Compared to the predecessor model S.CU dc90, the S.CU dc100 requires up to eight percent less fuel and at the same time achieves up to eleven percent more cooling capacity. In addition, the pull-down time – the time it takes to cool down the cargo space from +30°C to -20°C – is reduced by around 15 per cent compared to the previous model.

Networked systems increase transparency and availability
The standard BCU networks all relevant systems in the trailer and ensures that the 12V battery of the factory-installed refrigeration unit is recharged via the coupled EBS plug of the tractor unit and protected against deep discharge. Optional interior monitoring, which provides camera images when the door is opened and closed as well as on demand, creates transparency about the load and loading situation, supports the documentation of loading and unloading processes, and helps to detect damage to goods at an early stage. The images can also be accessed when the trailer is uncoupled. An optional solar panel integrated into the roof also supports the energy supply of the refrigerator battery, especially when the trailer is parked. TrailerConnect® provides fleet operators with important information on the vehicle and battery status and allows them to react to deviations at an early stage.

Practice-oriented equipment for efficient loading and unloading processes
Numerous other new equipment options ensure efficient processes in daily refrigerated transport. These include continuous LED interior lighting for better visibility in the cargo area, a partition wall optimised for distribution traffic, and internal control of the transport refrigeration unit in the rear area of the trailer. The refrigeration unit can be switched on and off as well as set the temperature directly in the rear area without interrupting the loading process. This means that an already loaded chamber can be cooled immediately, while the second chamber is loaded at the same time.

Safety for high-value and temperature-sensitive goods
TAPA-compliant security systems and an optional pharmaceutical package are also available for the transport of high-value and sensitive goods. They support the compliant transport of temperature-sensitive goods and help to reduce risks, loss of goods and associated costs.

In addition, a Full Service contract for trailers, tyres and transport refrigeration units with a term of up to 96 months can be concluded ex works to make operating costs plannable in the long-term.
