Following the motto “100 % SMART”, Schmitz Cargobull will now be equipping all S.KO COOL reefer semi-trailers with a telematics system as standard. The new benchmark for refrigerated transport is driving the digital transformation in the transport industry. The standard telematics equipment creates a strong foundation for optimum control over an interconnected, integrated logistics chain, thereby helping to boost efficiency and reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO). The launch of the new generation of telematics hardware also coincided with the introduction of the TrailerConnect Portal 2.0 and the free beSmart app.
For efficient data and cost transparency
TrailerConnect ensures full documentation for functions such as the refrigeration unit, tyre pressure and door locking system, and even allows drivers to operate individual components in the refrigeration unit and door locking mechanism. Regular status and alarm messages reports help users to proactively plan their workshop visits and reduce downtimes. The TrailerConnect telematics control unit CTU-3 also acts as a digital temperature recorder, certified according to DIN EN 12830. This means that drivers no longer need to invest in a conventional temperature printer. The launch of the new generation of telematics hardware has also coincided with the introduction of the TrailerConnect Portal 2.0. The portal provides customers with a web-based display of all data recorded by the telematics system, consolidating information into logical units. TrailerConnect can also help to streamline processes for fleets. With its wide array of fleet management functions, it forms the ideal starting point for reducing your running costs.
Individual contract options and sensors for every vehicle
A basic telematics contract, TrailerConnect Info, with a 24-month term comes with every S.KO COOL SMART. When it comes to displaying data, customers can either use the new Schmitz Cargobull Telematics portal or keep using their own portals and/or interface solutions.
Every S.KO COOL SMART equipped with a new S.CU MonoTemp or S.CUmt MultiTemp system comes with two or four sensors for the refrigeration unit. Temperature data and GPS data is delivered throughout the 24-month period. Comprehensive services, such as effective alarm management and a range of control functions can be configured by customers and tailored to their individual needs. With the free beSmart app, drivers of an S.KO COOL SMART can even enjoy direct access to the vehicle’s components and functions from their smartphone, controlling aspects such as the door locking system or the setpoints for the refrigeration unit. Alarms are also used to immediately alert drivers in the event of problems, such as a drop in tyre pressure. This helps to boost convenience and safety while relieving strain on fleet management. The solution therefore provides protection for the driver, his cargo and his vehicle. An extensive Europe-wide network of around 1,700 Service Partners are on hand to help with maintenance and repairs.
At its Smart Trailer World at the IAA, Schmitz Cargobull will be showcasing the latest in trailer technology and services. For Schmitz Cargobull, Smart Trailer World embodies the perfect interaction between vehicles and services throughout the entire product life cycle – for a low total cost of ownership that all customers will enjoy.
