Cargobull Operating System: Real-time data for greater transparency and vehicle availability
"With the Cargobull Operating System, we are networking vehicle data and digital functions on a central platform. This gives our customers an up-to-date overview of the condition of their trailers, allows them to plan maintenance in a more targeted manner and control functions remotely. This makes fleet operations easier and helps to reduce unplanned downtime," says Dr Cafer Ince, Head of Product Line Digital Services at Schmitz Cargobull.
The technological basis of the Cargobull Operating System (COS) is the software-defined trailer. The software-defined trailer is 100% Smart ex works, which means it has an electronic architecture that meets the requirements of the Software Update Management System (SUMS). This means that software updates can be installed over-the-air – securely from a distance – without the need for time-consuming workshop visits.
Real-time data and AI-supported analytics help fleet operators detect deviations at an early stage, plan maintenance in advance, and automate processes. The TrailerConnect® portal can be used to monitor the condition of axles, brakes and cooling units, among other things. Functions such as interior temperatures and door locking systems can be controlled remotely. The Data Management Center seamlessly integrates third-party systems and relevant partners. This turns the trailer into a networked system that sustainably increases efficiency, availability and operational safety.
TrailerConnect® telematics provides real-time data on location, temperature, tyre pressure, braking events, energy consumption and other parameters for the trailer and transport refrigeration unit S.CU, among other things. TrailerConnect® FleetTrack brings together telematics and status data in a central dashboard. Fleet operators receive a consolidated overview of the technical condition of their trailers, the operating data of the refrigeration units as well as relevant events and alarms - for individual trailers and the entire fleet.
TrailerConnect® FleetWatch: Detect faults at an early stage and analyse fleet deployment
TrailerConnect® FleetWatch complements FleetTrack with the proactive monitoring of trailers and transport refrigeration units, both for the Schmitz Cargobull S.CU and third-party refrigeration units. The system detects indications of critical conditions at an early stage, such as error codes from refrigeration units or RDF systems. Concrete recommendations for action support fleet operators in resolving faults before a failure occurs. Maintenance becomes easier to plan, and vehicle availability is increased.
The new usage analysis makes fleet deployment transparent in a flexibly configurable dashboard. Time periods and filters can be defined for targeted evaluations by vehicle, group or component. Central data on capacity utilisation, operating hours or temperature profiles show how vehicles are used and provide a well-founded basis for decision-making for optimisation potential.
TrailerConnect® Data Management Center (DMC) and TourTrack: Centrally use data from different systems
The Data Management Center (DMC) combines telematics and third-party data on a central, GDPR-compliant platform. This enables a consistent overview even in mixed fleets. In combination with TourTrack, transports can be tracked digitally throughout. Relevant information can be exchanged, documented and integrated into existing fleet and logistics processes across systems – from route planning to proof of transport conditions. The user decides when, where and with whom he shares which data.
Digital planning of washing and parking stops
With the integration of the TRAVIS app, TrailerConnect® links telematics and route data directly with the Europe-wide search and booking of truck washes and parking spaces. Fleet operators can already take necessary cleaning and intermediate stops into account during route planning and make binding reservations. This accelerates processes, reduces downtimes and increases the availability of the vehicles. At the same time, drivers benefit from simple and transparent planning along their route.
Remote Start and CargoSets: Digital control of the trailer
The TrailerConnect® portal can be used to remotely control selected functions such as remote start of refrigeration units, set-point adjustments or digital door locks. With CargoSets, predefined setting profiles for recurring transport tasks can be activated with a click. This saves time, simplifies processes, reduces operating errors and increases operational reliability.
Digitisation also for existing vehicles
The digital functions are not only available for new vehicles. Cargobull FleetConnect also integrates existing vehicles and mixed fleets into the Cargobull Operating System. Thanks to the possibility of retrofitting with various telematics control units, data from trailers, trucks and vans from different manufacturers can be integrated into the central data platform TrailerConnect® with full data sovereignty. This gives fleet operators a uniform view of their fleet and allows them to integrate existing vehicles into all processes.
