Future-proof on the road: upgrade to 4G telematics now

Future-proof on the road: upgrade to 4G telematics now

In the coming years, the 2G mobile communications standard will be gradually switched off worldwide. This means that the TrailerConnect® telematics units CTU2 and CTU3 will need to be upgraded to the CTU or CTU Pro with 4G technology. Take the next step in the digitalisation of your logistics and fleet.

Mobile network operators worldwide are gradually shutting down the first digital mobile network based on the 2G standard for mobile data communication. The frequencies that become available as a result can then be used to expand the newer and more efficient 4G LTE and 5G mobile communications technologies.

The TrailerConnect® telematics units CTU 2 and CTU 3 are affected by this shutdown, which means that important communication channels for your telematics units will no longer be available. Without an upgrade, data delays or failures may occur, especially in regions without 2G coverage.

To prevent this, you can update the control units to the latest generation with 4G technology (CTU or CTU Pro). The vehicle warranty remains valid even after upgrading to the CTU or CTU Pro.

Act now and avoid downtime
To prevent potential problems with data transmission, we already have a solution for you. Upgrade your TrailerConnect® CTU2 or CTU3 telematics units to the latest 4G technology.

Important note: End of support for CTU2

Please note: Technical support for CTU2 control units will be discontinued. This means that further development, troubleshooting and replacement parts will no longer be provided. To continue benefiting from reliable service, we recommend switching to the CTU or CTU Pro.
